Typography Settings enable you to customize the theme’s font size, font family and font style. You can see at the live preview to check the changing effects before applying font values.
1. Changing Font size, Font family and Font style
In your WP Admin Panel, Go to Appearance >> Customize >> Typography Settings
Here you will see the various sections. Each section has a set of optional fields to set the values for fonts size, font family and font style. Let’s see all the sections one by one how to make changes:
1.1 Custom typography: Go to Appearance >> Customize >> Typography Settings >> custom typography
Before proceeding to the upcoming next steps, it is must first require to put a tick mark✅ for the option Enable custom typography to apply custom typography changes. Otherwise, you would not be able to see any live preview changes.
1.2 General Paragraph: Go to Appearance >> Customize >> Typography Settings >> General Paragraph
General Paragraph refers to all the section in the theme which has the descriptive part like the paragraph part of post/page or description part of each service and so on for other sections. Technically we can say, we are going to change the font values (fonts size, font family and font style) of <p> tag element, which will make effects to the whole theme where <p> tag exists in HTML.
1.3 Menus: Go to Appearance >> Customize >> Typography Settings >> Menus
Same here you can set the values of font’s size, family, and style for Menu.
1.4 Post / Page title: Go to Appearance >> Customize >> Typography Settings >> Post / Page title
Same here, font values (fonts size, font family and font style) values but only for all the title of Posts and pages.
1.5 Home section title: Go to Appearance >> Customize >> Typography Settings >> Home section title
Set the font values (fonts size, font family and font style) of all the titles coming on each section of the Homepage.
1.6 Home section description: Go to Appearance >> Customize >> Typography Settings >> Home section description
Set the font values for all the description parts of each section on the Homepage.
1.7 Widget heading title: Go to Appearance >> Customize >> Typography Settings >> Widget heading title
Set font values for all the titles of Widgets.
1.8 At last you see, additional settings are given to set the font values (size, family, and style) of Footer callout section:
- Call to action title: Go to Appearance >> Customize >> Typography Settings >> Call to action title
- Call to action description: Go to Appearance >> Customize >> Typography Settings >> Call to action description
- Call to action button: Go to Appearance >> Customize >> Typography Settings >> Call to action button
2. Enable/Disable the Custom Typography
Whenever you want you can enable or disable the custom typography.
In your WP Admin Panel, Go to Appearance >> Customize >> Typography Settings >> Custom typography
To Enable the custom typography just you need to check ✅ the checkbox.
To Disable the custom typography just do vice-versa of above, means uncheck the ? checkbox.
